View answerOn 25 June, the Government gave approval for the publication of the Health (General Practitioner Service and Alteration of Criteria for Eligibility) Bill 2020. This Bill provides, amongst other things, for the necessary legislative amendments to increase the weekly gross medical card income limits for those aged 70 or older to €550 (currently €500) for individuals and €1,050 (currently €900) for couples. Publication of the Bill is now being arranged in preparation for its passage through the Houses of the Oireachtas.
