Deputy Cathal Crowe asked the Minister for Education and Skills if she will consider a revision to the honours degree allowance for primary school teachers in order that teachers who have qualified with pass degrees will also receive this allowance; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 562 and 563 together.

My Department has implemented the outcome of the public service-wide review of allowances and premium payments which was completed in September 2012 by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. There are no plans at this time to further review eligibility criteria for qualification allowances.
