View answerProvision of safe and secure custody and dignity of care to persons in the penal system in Ireland is a priority for me as Minister and for the Irish Prison Service. Safe and secure custody is one of the key pillars of the Prison Service Strategic Plan 2019-2022.
I am advised by the Irish Prison Service that the self-harm in Irish prisons 2018 report will be published before the end of July 2020. This will be the second annual report detailing all episodes of self-harm by persons in the custody of the Prison Service.
