195. Deputy Jackie Cahill asked the Minister for Education and Skills if the plans to provide 10,000 third level students with devices to aid remote learning due to Covid-19 will be means-tested; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [19464/20]
View answerAs the Deputy will be aware, the Minister for Higher and Further Education, Research, Innovation and Science recently secured Cabinet approval for a substantial package of supports for third level institutions and students. The distribution of the funds and the principles and eligibility criteria governing the additional supports for students including in relation to access to devices will be finalised over the coming days and weeks with key stakeholders.
