244. Deputy Fergus O'Dowd asked the Minister for Finance if a reply will issue to correspondence from a person (details supplied) regarding the person's role as a retained firefighter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23526/20]
View answerAs outlined in my reply to Parliamentary Question reference 16793/20 on 22 July, I am advised by Revenue that the person concerned is employed as a Clerical Officer with Revenue in Dundalk, in full-time capacity, Monday to Friday. The retained firefighter role requires availability on call, six days out of eight and is not therefore compatible with a fulltime post in Revenue.
