View answerPenal reform is a priority issue for me as the Minister for Justice and Equality and is reflected in the current Programme for Government, which includes a commitment to establish a Penal Policy Consultative Council to advise on penal policy.
I am pleased to advise the Deputy that officials within my Department are expected to have concluded an examination of how best to take the commitment forward by the end of this year.
