174. Deputy James Lawless asked the Minister for Transport if the speed limit on the M7 from the Naas Johnstown junction into the Red Cow will now be upgraded from 100 km per hour to 120 km per hour in view of three lanes along that stretch in order to regularise it as motorway. [31437/20]
View answerAs Minister for Transport I have responsibility for overall policy and securing exchequer funding in relation to the National Roads Programme. Under the Roads Acts 1993-2015 and in line with the National Development Plan (NDP), the operation and management of individual national roads is a matter for Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), in conjunction with the local authorities concerned. This is also subject to the Public Spending Code Guidelines and the necessary statutory approvals. In this context, TII is best placed to advise you on the final steps and closeout of this project.
