Deputy Mary Lou McDonald asked the Minister for Transport if under level 5 restrictions there is a plan in place to accommodate persons from Northern Ireland seeking to exchange their driver licences owing to Brexit requirements; if alternative arrangements such as a postal process can be put in place for these persons; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An Irish driving licence can only be issued to a person resident in Ireland. A person resident in Northern Ireland can not apply for an Irish driving licence.
