Deputy Carol Nolan asked the Minister for Finance the total number of persons granted exemptions under section 195 of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 in each of the years 2015 to 2019 inclusive; the estimated total amount of tax revenue forgone by the State in each of those years as a result of these exemptions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The total number of persons who have been granted exemptions under section 195 of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 (Artists exemption) in each of the years 2015 to 2018, inclusive, and the estimated total amount of tax revenue foregone by the State in each of those years as a result of these exemptions is detailed in the table below. Please note that 2018 is the most recent year for which data are available.
