Questions (790)

Róisín Shortall

Question:

790. Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Health if clinical guidance from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the UK, which states that women who are 28 weeks pregnant and beyond are at increased risk of becoming severely ill should they contract Covid-19, has been considered in line with the HSE's policy with regard to risks that Covid-19 poses to women; and if health and safety leave will be granted in the event that a pregnant woman's doctor recommends going on leave due to a heightened risk of falling severely ill (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. Written answers

Given the role of the HSE's National Women and Infants Health Programme in the dissemination of pregnancy related clinical guidelines, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
