View answerUnder Section 13 of the Roads Act 1993 to 2015, the improvement and maintenance of regional and local roads, including public lighting, is the statutory responsibility of the relevant local authority.
In this context, policy and decisions in relation to new installations and extensions to public lighting schemes beyond urban speed limits is a matter for the relevant local authority.
