View answerAny pyrolysis operation in Ireland would need authorisation from either, depending on its size, a Local Authority or the Environmental Protection Agency. Under EU guidelines, such an operation could be categorised as recovery or recycling or both, depending on the process and outputs. The status of the operation for statistical reporting purposes would therefore depend on an assessment in light of those guidelines.
