Invalidity pension (IP) is a payment for people who are permanently incapable of work because of illness or incapacity and for no other reason and who satisfy the pay related social insurance (PRSI) contribution conditions.
The review of the decision to disallow IP will be processed as quickly as possible and the person concerned will be notified directly of the outcome. As the further medical evidence submitted by the person concerned refers to appeal, her case has been referred to the Social Welfare Appeals Office (SWAO) to register an appeal. If following the review, the decision to disallow is confirmed, her claim will be submitted to the SWAO for determination.
I hope this clarifies the position for the Deputy.
