577. Deputy Cian O'Callaghan asked the Minister for Health if airline staff who are resident here but work in the United Kingdom are exempt from Covid-19 PCR testing when returning here from a shift in a UK airport; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2623/21]
View answerInternational Transport Workers, including workers in aviation, maritime and road haulage sectors are exempt from the new requirement to produce a ‘negative/ not detected’ result from a pre-departure COVID-19 PCR test carried out no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Ireland, where they are travelling in the course of performing their duties.
Included in this exemption are aircraft pilots, other aircrew, maritime master or maritime crew who arrives in the State in the course of performing his or her duties.
