159. Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Minister for Transport if HGV drivers whose licences are due for renewal and are currently facing difficulties accessing medical assessments due to Covid-19 restrictions will be granted an extension of time to allow for completion of these medical assessments. Due to the resurgence of Covid-19 in Europe as well as Ireland, the possible extension of driving licences is currently under consideration at EU level. A decision on this issue is expected shortly.
