Deputy Francis Noel Duffy asked the Minister for Education the reason her Department did not inform a special school (details supplied) of the decisions made on the reopening of schools including the reopening dates; if she will resolve the communication issue between her Department and the management of the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of Education

Guidance documentation regarding the partial reopening of special schools and special classes issued to all primary and special schools by email on the 3rd of February 2021. The special education section within my Department has contacted the school directly and they have confirmed that they received the relevant documentation.
