View answerA comprehensive review of betting taxation policy was carried out in 2017 in advance of the rate increases in Budget 2019, where betting duty for retail and online operations increased from 1% to 2%, and the duty for betting exchanges increased from 15% to 25% of commissions earned on a bet. My Department keeps betting duty and betting intermediary duty under a rolling review as part of the Tax Strategy Group papers each year.
