Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage the number of applications granted in each of the years 2018 to 2020 and to date in 2021, for foreshore licences for seaweed harvesting by county in tabular form; and the locations in which such licences were granted. Detailed information relating to the Foreshore Licence Consenting process can be viewed on my Department's website at the link below. Details of each application made and relevant determinations are also available there.

A total of eight (8) foreshore licence applications to harvest seaweed have been received from 2018 to 2021, as per table below. No foreshore licences for seaweed harvesting have been granted in any county in the years 2018 to 2020 and none have been granted to date in 2021.
