View answerThe Anti-Racism Committee was appointed in June 2020, with a mandate to review current evidence and practice and make recommendations to Government on how best to strengthen its approach to tackling racism. The Anti-Racism Committee’s purpose is to develop an understanding of the nature and prevalence of racism in Ireland, and to work towards achieving a social consensus on actions required, by State and non-State actors. The Committee has submitted its Interim Report which I intend to bring to government shortly. In addition the Committee is about to commence a series of Public Consultations, in keeping with its Terms of References. The Committee will recommend to Government its National Action Plan Against Racism by the end of 2021.
