Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Transport the number of protected disclosures received by his Department in each of the years 2017 to 2020 and to date in 2021; the number that were accepted as a protected disclosure; the number that were in part or fully examined by a third party or consultancy; the number of protected disclosures under investigation over this period; and the number that were finalised and the contents accepted and acted on.; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The number of allegations received by my Department which invoked the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 in each of the years 2017 to 2020 and to date in 2021 are set out in the table below.. All allegations received are assessed and the appropriate action taken. The table indicates the total number of allegations received, the number of these which were found, following assessment, to be not relevant or not a protected disclosure, the number concluded and the number which remain in progress.
