Deputy Ged Nash asked the Minister for Education when she plans to implement the recommendations contained in a report commissioned by the Department of Justice (details supplied) to provide DEIS band 1 status and or equivalent resources and supports to schools on the north side of Drogheda, County Louth; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerI am aware of the recently published report, referred to by the Deputy, and the recommendations contained therein.
I am aware of the need to support these schools to address the issues which are highlighted in the report. In that regard, my Department is currently considering the recommendations of the report. Officials from my Department will engage directly with the schools identified in the recommendations of the report, to inform this process.
