1113. Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine further to Parliamentary Question No. 269 of 11 March 2021, the name of the two senior inspectors listed; the number of ecologists who are directly employed by his Department; the grade of each; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The two Senior Inspectors are Fergus Moore, Senior Inspector, Head of Forest Sector Development Division and Seamus Dunne, Senior Inspector, Head of Forestry Inspectorate Division.

Within Forestry in the Department, there are nine permanent ecologists. The Head of Ecology is at Forestry Inspector Grade 1 level, one ecologist is at Ecologist Grade 3 level and seven are at Assistant Agricultural Inspector (ecologist) grade.

In total, 21 full-time equivalent ecologists are working on forestry matters.
