View answerThe latest data available on third level enrolments is from the 2019/2020 academic year, when there was a total of 235,697 students enrolled in higher education. A breakdown by course level and mode of study is available in the table below. The HEA publishes student enrolment figures on an annual basis. The enrolment figures for 2020/2021 will be published later this year.
