Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine further to Parliamentary Question No. 1255 of 31 March 2021, when the required frost recon scheme will be announced to support owners of woodlands affected by detrimental frost damage in May 2019 and 2020 and again in early May 2021; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department is aware of a request from the forestry sector for a reconstitution scheme in response to frost damage on young plantations. We are continuing to analyse the business case for such a scheme.
