Deputy Michael Creed asked the Minister for Transport the level of supervision by either his Department or the Road Safety Authority of individual vehicle testing centres; the nature of this supervision; if the supervision involves random inspection of tested vehicles; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The operation of the National Car Test (NCT) service is the statutory responsibility of the Road Safety Authority and I have therefore referred the question to the Authority for direct reply.

I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
