80. Deputy Kathleen Funchion asked the Minister for Transport if all recent purchases of buses for use on public service obligation routes have been undertaken by the National Transport Authority and as such hold the title to the buses. [28472/21]
View answerThe National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for the planning and development of public transport infrastructure, including the procurement of the national PSO bus fleet.
The NTA acts as the purchasing body for the PSO bus/coach fleet as operated by various companies (including the State owned companies and privately owned companies) in accordance with the public service contracts entered into by those companies with the NTA.
Noting their statutory responsibility on the matter I have referred the question to the NTA for further reply. Please contact my private office if you do not receive a reply within 10 days.
