Deputy Seán Haughey asked the Minister for Education if she has received a request from a school (details supplied) to increase the number of places in the school given the shortage of school places in its catchment area; the consideration being given to this request; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I wish to advise the Deputy that my Department has no record of receiving an application for additional accommodation from the school in question. However, should an application be received it will be considered and the school authority informed of the outcome.
