Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Transport the amount Iarnród Éireann spent on improving the quality of audio announcements on the DART in each of the years of 2019, 2020 and to date in 2021; if all announcement systems on the DART are currently in full working order; and the frequency with which the audio announcement system is tested to ensure full working order. As the Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. However, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
The issues raised are operational matters for Iarnród Éireann and I have forwarded the Deputy's questions to the company for direct reply.
