578. Deputy Thomas Gould asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage the funding provided to local authorities in each of the years 2016 to 2020 and to date in 2021 to deal with the issue of dereliction in tabular form. [30704/21]
View answerAside from providing for the derelict sites levy - the proceeds of which are retained by local authorities - and associated provisions, the Derelict Sites Act 1990 does not address the issue of funding for local authorities to address dereliction. The proportion of the overall annual budget of each local authority which is spent on addressing dereliction is a matter for each local authority and is unavailable in my Department. This information may be available from individual local authorities.
