452. Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Health if patients whose data was included in the ransomware attack on the health service have been notified of the breach; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27072/21]
View answerThe HSE has verified that data emanating from HSE systems relating to 520 patients, were published online in the immediate aftermath of the cyber-attack. In their submission to the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Healthcare on 23rd June 2021, the HSE also advised that it has worked with the Data Protection Commissioner in relation to this issue and is engaged in a process to inform all the patients affected.
