38. Deputy Catherine Connolly asked the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications further to Parliamentary Question No. 112 of 8 December 2020, the action taken further to the malfunction of the mooring system of an installation at the quarter scale test site located off the coast of An Spidéal on Galway Bay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) has liaised with the Marine Institute on this matter, and the SEAI has advised my Department that the environmental monitoring buoy and mooring system, located off the coast of Spiddal, was recovered to Galway Docks on 22 November 2020. The buoy is presently undergoing a refit of its scientific instruments.
