As the Deputy will be aware Social Impact Assessment (SIA) is an analytical framework that is designed to examine the demographic profile of public services users, and how they are impacted by budgetary policy decisions. The framework complements existing budgetary impact assessment exercises conducted by the Departments of Public Expenditure and Reform (including Equality Budgeting ), Finance, Employment Affairs and Social Protection and externally by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).  Social Impact Statements are conducted by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (including Equality Budgeting ), Finance, Employment Affairs and Social Protection and externally by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).

I am advised that my Department and the bodies under its aegis have not conducted social impact assessments over the period specified by the Deputy. Further information, along with a list of social impact assessments undertaken by various Government Departments can be found here: www.gov.ie/en/policy-information/615fe5-social-impact-assessment-framework/.

I trust that the above is of assistance to the Deputy.
