Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications further to Parliamentary Question No. 211 of 13 July 2021, the procedures for reappointment to the board of Inland Fisheries Ireland; if public consultation is involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Section 14 (6) of the Inland Fisheries Act 2010 Act provides that any member of Inland Fisheries Ireland who completes a term of office is eligible for re-appointment, but may not serve more than 2 consecutive terms. All appointments, including re-appointments, are made in accordance with Section 12 of the 2010 Act and with due regard to the Guidelines on Appointments to State Boards and the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies.
