I propose to take Questions Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 10 together.

Following Government approval, the Taoiseach confirmed on 29 June 2021, the allocation of €3 million from the Shared Island Fund to progress the Narrow Water Bridge project to tender stage, and a further commitment of funds from the Shared Island Fund, following determination of the likely final costs arising, and Government approval of the successful tender.

The Government also approved Louth County Council’s designation as the lead project partner for the Narrow Water Bridge project given their previous and ongoing experience with this project, and the appointment of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage as the designated authority for the governance and release of funds to Louth County Council.

A subgroup of the North-South Infrastructure Group, which brings together Senior Officials of relevant Departments, has also been established to oversee the project and support Louth County Council in its delivery. The Subgroup held its first meeting on Friday 23 July.
