View answerMy Department publishes a detailed monthly report on homelessness, based on data provided by housing authorities. The Report outlines details of individuals utilising State-funded emergency accommodation arrangements that are overseen by housing authorities. The most recently published data is in respect of July 2021. There were 34 adults in emergency accommodation in Mayo during the July count week. County Mayo is part of the West region for the purposes of homeless reporting, along with counties Galway and Roscommon. The combined West region reported 66 families, with 165 dependants associated with these families, in emergency accommodation in July 2021.
Reporting on homelessness began in its current format with the introduction of the Pathway Accommodation & Support System (PASS) in 2014.
All homeless data from January 2019 to date are also published on the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform's open data portal at: data.gov.ie/.
