286. Deputy Neale Richmond asked the Minister for Finance if he has considered implementing a maximum customs processing fee post-Brexit given that different couriers and postal carriers charge vastly different customs processing fees; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [46112/21]
View answerMy colleagues in Revenue inform me that while the rates of Customs Duty are standard and are set at EU level, the administration fees charged by carrier / delivery companies are a matter for the individual companies and for the consumers who use these companies. The fees vary but so does the service offered by the various companies. Queries about these charges should be directed to the individual companies.
Revenue has no role in relation to such fees. Similarly on the tax side, Revenue has no role in relation to tax agent fees.
