The definitive budgetary allocations across the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine will be set out in the 2022 Revised Estimates Volume (REV) which will be published later this year. It is important to point out that, at a technical level, this REV does not include a dedicated heading for farm safety. In line with announcements on budget day, I wish to confirm that an additional €2m has been earmarked for farm safety expenditure in 2022.

The On Feirm Ground project is an important programme that is co-funded by my Department along with the Department of Health and the HSE. It is providing training for agricultural advisors to engage with and signpost farmers to supports in relation to health and wellbeing. The project has been fully funded, with the last payments made this year. There is no requirement for funding in 2022 for the programme.

The National Farmers Health Alliance showcase was a one off event which looked at the potential to develop a National Farmers Health Alliance and has been fully paid for.
