View answerCity of Dublin ETB advised my officials that the adult learners in the Donnycarney Centre approached the Board's staff as a preformed group requesting assistance as the funding for their programme had ceased. The current position is that following an initial assessment of the learners in the Donnycarney Centre, City of Dublin ETB is providing a combined programme incorporating elements of the Latch-on programme and the Skills for Life programme, which it considers most suitable for their needs.
The combined programme is of 9 hours duration per week, similar to that of the two pilot Latch-On programmes being operated in Finglas and Parnell Square in collaboration with Down Syndrome Ireland. All three programmes are being offered for a 2 year period during which City of Dublin ETB will monitor their progress.
