Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the number of persons over the course of the past ten years who allege they were either physically or sexually abused or assaulted while in State care; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy is referring to an operational matter for Tusla, the Child and Family Agency. I have therefore referred the matter to Tusla, and asked that a direct response be provided to the Deputy.
