Deputy Mark Ward asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the number of children in State care at the start of December 2021, in tabular form indicating the type of care, for example, foster, private, residential and secure; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy is referring to an operational matter for Tusla, the Child and Family Agency. I have therefore referred the matter to Tusla, and asked that a direct response be provided to the Deputy.
