Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Education if she will approve funding for an autism spectrum disorder building for a school (details supplied) in view of the urgent need for such a facility within the catchment of the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I am pleased to advise the Deputy that my Department has recently approved funding for the provision of permanent additional accommodation, including a two class special education needs base (ASD) at the school in question. The school authority has been contacted directly with the decision.
