512. Deputy Rose Conway-Walsh asked the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science the 2021 drop-out rate from craft apprenticeships by apprenticeship type; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6264/22]
View answerA total of 6,955 craft apprentices were registered in 2021. 298 apprentices withdrew from their apprenticeships, 2 were made redundant and 194 are classed as unemployed. Apprentices end their registration for a variety of reasons including failed assessments, pursuing another career or educational programme or personal reasons such as serious illness etc. If they are made redundant and released from employment due to lack of work they are still eligible to re-sit assessments. If they leave their employer for any other reason they are classed as unemployed but are still eligible to re-sit assessments.
The information requested by the Deputy in relation to the withdrawal rate from apprenticeship for each trade for 2021 is attached below in tabular form.
