228. Deputy Jackie Cahill asked the Minister for Transport if a person (details supplied) who has to resit their driving test due to their age can postpone their test until such a time as they receive treatment for their cataracts; if this will affect the sitting of their test in the future; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under legislation, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) is the body responsible for the operation of the Driving Test. I am therefore referring the Deputy's question to the RSA for direct reply. If a reply has not been received within 10 working days, the Deputy should please contact my office.
