Durkan asked the Minister for Health the extent to which an efficient, effective and expeditious procedure exists to facilitate medical staff, consultants, doctors, nurses or other medical professionals who in response to advertisements have applied to join the health services but in some cases have been waiting for an inordinate amount of time for a reply resulting in some applicants going to other jurisdictions; if these issues can be identified and resolved; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
