197. Deputy Pauline Tully asked the Minister for Transport the number of motorcycle driving tests that were applied for in 2020 and 2021, respectively; the number of motorcycle driving tests that were undertaken in 2020 and 2021, respectively; the number of outstanding motorcycle driving tests currently; his plans to remove the backlog in motorcycle driving tests; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of Transport

Under legislation, the Road Safety Authority is responsible for the operation of the motorcycle test and the information requested is held by them. I have therefore forwarded the Deputy's query to the RSA for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.  

A referred reply was forwarded to the Deputy under Standing Order 51
