Deputy Ruairí Ó Murchú asked the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media the position regarding the examination of including the location of defibrillators in in the National Database of Sport and Recreation Amenities; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerA key principle of the National Digital Database project, the development of which is being led by Sport Ireland, is the necessity to source and accept data from authoritative sources, in order to ensure the accuracy, reliability and sustainability of the system and its data. Such sources include, in particular, Local Authorities, State Agencies and National Governing Bodies of Sport. There has been initial engagement with the bodies who collect information on defibrillators in Ireland and best efforts are being made to show defibrillator coverage across the country. The integrity and accuracy of the data provided will be made a priority to ensure information provided is valuable to users.
