View answerThe enforcement of environmental legislation is a matter for the Office of Environmental Enforcement (OEE) in the EPA and local authorities. As Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, I am precluded from exercising any power or control in relation to the performance by the EPA or a local authority of a statutory function vested in it, including enforcement functions.
Information on enforcement actions taken by local authorities should be sought directly from individual local authorities. Information in relation to enforcement activities by the OEE are available at www.epa.ie.
