Deputy Seán Canney asked the Minister for Health his views on the fact that many farmers and self-employed people with disabilities are unable to access medical cards due to the means test which takes into account the value of land owned as opposed to income from such land, and where there is none and such people are not able to work they are losing out on medical entitlements as a result; his further views that the additional costs relating to having a disability should be taken into account; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
