View answerIn 2019, my Department’s Multi-annual Rural Water Programme 2019-2021 allocated €350,000 to the group water scheme referred to in the details supplied for water treatment improvements. I understand that the local authority have sought an increase of this funding. There has been ongoing correspondence between the local authority and my Department on this matter. Further information has being requested from the local authority and is awaited.
Each local authority (in this case Cavan County Council) has appointed a Rural Water Liaison Officer (RWLO) to facilitate the flow of information between the group water sector and the local authority. The RWLO deals with the day to day issues in the implementation of the devolved Rural Water Programme and can be contacted at the council offices.
