Oireachtas TV has produced a studio debate on Parliament and the media.
Last year’s Brexit vote and the election of Donald Trump as President of the USA have brought into sharp focus the relationship between the democratic institutions and the media. Oireachtas TV examines that relationship in the Irish context and asks how the Houses of the Oireachtas have reacted to the digital communication age and how it has changed how proceedings are reported by the media. Members of the panel are Michael O’Regan of The Irish Times, Elaine Loughlin of the Irish Examiner and Hugh O’Connell of The Sunday Business Post.
